United Mental Health Promoters​

Program Mission:​   ​  
     
Reduce mental health stigma across Los Angeles County, especially within historically underserved cultural and linguistic communities. This is achieved by:
  • Increasing awareness and understanding of mental health issues.
  • Removing barriers to accessing mental health care.
  • Improving access to culturally and linguistically appropriate resources and services.
  • Empowering individuals with knowledge, resources, and hope to build trust and resilience.
By using trained Mental Health Promoters (Promotors), the program serves as a bridge between the community, the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health, and other human and social service organizations, addressing mental health needs with a culturally sensitive approach.
